Portugal demolishes the 'Oscars' of European tourism

The country nearly doubles the number of awards won and spends nine to 16
The European gala of the biggest prizes in the tourism industry held this Saturday in Athens, Greece, with Portugal to reach your Olympus regarding the awards. After adding nine in 2013 World Travel Awards Europe - the leading Golf Algarve as the best destination for beaches and Madeira as best island destination or Lisbon as best destination for getaways - this time the country who came to the ceremony with more than 40 nominations broke the record of "Oscars" won 16, even after adding two distinctions in the division of the Mediterranean and ten exclusively national.

The rain fell on Lisbon prize winner in the categories of port and cruise destination. Reached Madeira, which repeats the distinction of best islands to vacation. Welcomed TAP with two wins as best company on the links to Africa and South America lifted DouroAzul declared best river cruise company. He came to Turismo de Portugal, the best official body of tourism in Europe.

The remaining prizes for Portugal fit the large national hotel insignia, mostly in the Algarve and Madeira: among others, Conrad (best luxury resort), Bairro Alto Hotel (hotel in historical heritage), Shed Hills (boutique resort), Vila Joya (boutique hotel), The Vine (design hotel), Pestana Porto Santo
(all-inclusive resort), Pine Cliffs (hotel residences) or Martinhal (villa resort). The country is going to bear the "most romantic resort in Europe", an award given to the Vila Vita Parc.
